Intro to Celtic Repertoire
1:15 PM – 2:45 PM ESTCeltic cellist Ellen Gira leads a monthly repertoire class where you’ll learn a groovy Celtic tune and create a fun arrangement as an ensemble. This class will also offer ideas to take your playing further and improve your session playing.

Intro to Bluegrass Repertoire with Justin Heath
1:00 - 2:30 PM ESTThis class will help students expand their repertoire while honing the skills required to play with others and be creative while doing it.

Jazz Repertoire Class with Noah Gitlis
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM ESTEach month Noah Gitlis teaches a different Jazz Standard emphasizing the skills needed to play in jazz jam sessions. Learn the melody, harmony, accompaniment, and rhythm to your favorite jazz standards. All instruments are welcome.

Ukulele Repertoire for All!
Each month, learn a fun song for ukulele in the pop, rock, or folk realms. Each song will have two arrangements - Beginner + Intermediate. Beginners can push their skills with chord changes and intermediate players can enjoy tinkering with riffs and engaging in new strum/picking patterns.

Old Time Repertoire Class
Learn Oldtime Fiddle Tunes with Jonathan Vocke. Each class will cover 2 new tunes using the aural method and source recordings. Chords and rhythmic nuance of each tune are discussed in depth. All instruments welcome!

Pop, Rock & Country Band

Looking for a way to take your playing to the next level while making music with others? Join our Pop, Rock & Country Band at the School of Musical Traditions! This group class meets bi-weekly (every other week) and is open to musicians of all ages who can play a song from start to finish. Whether you’re a high school student looking for a creative outlet or an adult wanting to reconnect with music, this band is for you!

Beatles Ensemble
12:00 - 1:00 PM ESTJoin SMT Director Maureen Andary every other Saturday from 12-1pm in a small, acoustic Beatles cover band! Open to all instruments, we'll also trade off on some hand percussion and learn at least 5-7 songs to perform at a show. All you need to be able to do is play a song from start to finish. Band Rehearsals are: Saturdays 4/19, 5/3, 5/17, 5/31, 6/7 with a performance + party for friends and family Sun June 8th :)

Violin Technique for All Levels
6:00 PM - 7:00 PM ESTViolinists and fiddlers of all levels are welcome to join this violin technique class. In the class, Joanna Clare will cover ways that you can advance your ease of playing, intonation, bowing, tone, and to overall have more fun on your instrument! She'll also discuss practice strategies for implementing these techniques.

Youth Bluegrass Band
5:30 PM - 6:30 PM ESTMusicians who are ready to take their skills to the next level are invited to play bluegrass in a band setting. We'll learn to arrange songs, take solos, and will end the series with a final performance. For musicians age 12-18. Students must be able to play through a song start to finish. This class is geared towards intermediate to advanced students.

Jazz Ensemble Class
11:00 AM - 12:30 PM ESTTake your Jazz playing to the next level by joining a Jazz band! Guitarist, teacher and Berklee Alum Noah Gitlis will coach rehearsals and help the band develop, arrange and practice a repertoire of Jazz standards in preparation for a performance.
