Celtic Ensemble Class
7:00 - 8:00 PM ESTJoin Celtic cellist Ellen Gira for a fun, welcoming class where we'll learn and arrange Celtic tunes and songs as an ensemble. Throughout seven sessions, we'll develop a short set of arrangements, culminating in a performance at UpCounty TradFest at BlackRock Center for the Arts (March 29, 2025).
$240How to Jam - for Kids! (Ages 6-12)
1:00 - 2:00 PM ESTStudents age 6-12 are invited to join Mari Carlson for a youth jamming class. All instruments are welcome. We’ll sing, tap our toes, figure out chords, and pick out melodies as a group.
$30Tunes for Tots (Age Groups 0-2)
0-2 Age Group is 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM ESTTunes for Tots is a music class where babies and their caregivers participate in vocal, instrumental, movement, and rhythmic activities that ignite cognitive, communicative and social development. By participating, your child will be in an environment in which they can obtain thorough mastery, developing not only their musical abilities but more importantly, their character. “Character first, ability second.” ~Dr. Suzuki

1:15 PM – 2:45 PM ESTCeltic cellist Ellen Gira leads a monthly repertoire class where you’ll learn a groovy Celtic tune and create a fun arrangement as an ensemble. This class will also offer ideas to take your playing further and improve your session playing.
$30Intro to Bluegrass Repertoire with Justin Heath
1:00 - 2:30 PM ESTThis class will help students expand their repertoire while honing the skills required to play with others and be creative while doing it.

11:00 AM - 12:00 PM ESTJoin a Jazz Band coached by jazz guitarist and Berklee Alum Noah Gitlis. Students will develop, arrange and rehearse a repertoire of jazz standards in preparation for a performance at Hank Deitle’s!
$240Music Time with Mr. Gabe
10:00 AM - 10:30 AM ESTStrictly for ages 18 mos. to 3 years, This is a classic toddler music and movement class led by Takoma Park’s favorite children’s musician, Mr. Gabe. Registration includes a spot for one student and one caregiver. Activities will include finger plays, dancing, traditional and modern singalongs, and introduction to basic rhythm instruments – all designed to support your child’s development and stimulate their interest in music.
$225Jazz Repertoire Class with Noah Gitlis
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM ESTEach month Noah Gitlis teaches a different Jazz Standard emphasizing the skills needed to play in jazz jam sessions. Learn the melody, harmony, accompaniment, and rhythm to your favorite jazz standards. All instruments are welcome.
