Join Maureen to learn some great ukulele arrangements! Each week we'll learn a new arrangement of a fun, popular song. Beginner players can focus on changing chords while intermediate players can enjoy learning interesting finger-picking, strums, and riffs.
$90 for all 3 classes or $36 for drop ins 1:00 - 2:30 PM EST Learn to decode the page, from time signature to key signature to finding the notes and rhythms on the instrument!
$25 Workshop 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM EST Strictly for ages 18 mos. to 3 years, This is a classic toddler music and movement class led by Takoma Park’s favorite children’s musician, Mr. Gabe. Registration includes a spot for one student and one caregiver. Activities will include finger plays, dancing, traditional and modern singalongs, and introduction to basic rhythm instruments – all designed to support your child’s development and stimulate their interest in music.

November 16th 1:15 PM – 2:45 PM EST Celtic cellist Ellen Gira leads a monthly repertoire class where you’ll learn a groovy Celtic tune and create a fun arrangement as an ensemble. This class will also offer ideas to take your playing further and improve your session playing.
$25 1:00 - 2:30 PM EST Explore the rich rhythms and melodies of West African music in this collaborative class and guided jam. Oral historian and cross-cultural music facilitator, Uasuf Gueye, will guide participants through fundamental techniques. Ages 10+

Student Cancellation and Refund Policy
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to lessons@schoolofmusicaltraditions.com.
If you cancel your registration:
- 5 days or more before the workshop: full refund or full credit towards a future workshop or
individual lessons
- 4 days and up to 24 hours in advance of the workshop: 50% refund or 50% credit towards a future
workshop or individual lessons
- Less than 24 hours in advance: no refunds or credits will be processed
For multi-session classes, students register for all sessions. We do not prorate the registration fee if
you
have to miss one or more sessions. Please note that some multi-session classes have a per-session or
“drop-in” rate specified. We do not offer a retroactive change your registration if you switch between a
drop-in or full-class purchase.

School of Musical Traditions Cancellations
If the School of Musical Traditions cancels a workshop or class due to instructor emergency,
insufficient registration, inclement weather, or other situation that is out of our control, we will
attempt to reschedule the class.
If we do not reschedule the class, or if you are unable to attend the rescheduled date, we will
offer
registered participants the choice between a full refund, credit for individual lessons, or credit
for a
future workshop.
