Erik Sharar
Erik Sharar has been teaching students of all ages in a variety of musical styles, including classical, pop, rock, Latin, flamenco and jazz in the DC area and internationally for almost twenty years. Erik provides a strong foundation in the instrument so that his students are prepared to pursue the styles and genres of their ultimate interest.

A DC native, he holds a Master of Music from the Peabody Conservatory and received his BA in Guitar Performance from UMBC. Erik is also a seasoned performer and has played for audiences in Italy, Belgium, the Terrace Theater at the Kennedy Center and 9:30 Club in Washington, DC.

Erik teaches acoustic (nylon & steel) guitar, electric guitar, ukulele, electric bass, beginner mandolin, and lute.
