Jake Askarinam
Jake Askarinam is a Maryland native who plays drums for a variety of groups in DMV. He graduated from The Peabody Institute with his master’s degree in Jazz Performance.

Through his undergraduate career in New York at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary music, Jake studied from greats like Jason Gianni, Kenny Washington, Bobby Sanabria, Allison Miller, Joanne Brackeen, Reggie Workman, Eric Harland and many more.

Through his master’s degree, Jake reconnected with his Maryland roots, working in clubs and music spaces all over Baltimore and DC including JoJo’s, The Black Cat, Columbia Station, An Die Muzak, The Eubie Blake Community Center, The Bluebird, St Vincent Wine, The Pendry Hotel, and more.

Jake teaches: Drums, Congas, Timbales, Intermediate Electric bass, Intermediate Jazz Upright bass (pizzicato only), and beginner piano to students 8 and older.
