Mr. Gabe
I'm a children's entertainer based in Takoma Park, Maryland. I’ve been performing music and teaching classes for young children for almost 15 years. My repertoire is a mix of traditional children’s songs, family friendly pop songs, and originals. I perform at preschools and daycares, libraries, community events and birthday parties throughout suburban DC.
I learned early on that to engage young children it helps to give them something to do that’s fun and matches their level of development. As a result, my shows include lots of interactive elements. The goal is for all of us (grown-ups, too) to have fun together with music.
You can find some of my original music on Spotify. In addition to performing for kids, I also play music for older adults at assisted living facilities and for general audiences with my band Song Riot. We play a mix of jazz, folk, country and pop.
Here’s what a few very nice people have said about me:
“Thanks for being such a great teacher! Your classes have gone a long way in influencing my children to love music.”
— Lee A.
“With his dextrous guitar playing and cheerful arrangements of favorite children’s songs, Mr. Gabe is the Pied Piper of Takoma Park.”
— Karen MacPherson, former Children’s Librarian, Takoma Park Maryland Library
“Dear Mr. Gabe, I am at the museum today. I made a pirate for you because you have a pirate costume [with] an eye patch. I really like your music.”
